Prof. Yandong Zhao is the Director of the Institute of Science, Technology and Society, Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development (CASTED). CASTED is a research arm of the Ministry of Science and Technology, P.R.China. Trained in philosophy, law and sociology, Prof. Zhao’s research interests include 1) social capital and social network research, 2) science and technology studies, 3) risk and disaster research, and 4) scientific communities and innovation. Prof. Zhao has led numerous national projects with significant policy impacts and has a specialist interest in research ethics.
