Dr Francesca Irene Cavallaro holds a PhD in Cognitive Sciences and a degree in Philosophy. She currently works as individual specialist in UNESCO’s Bioethics and Ethics of Science and Technology Section, and as part time senior communication and engagement manager for the South African San Institute, SASI. From 2008 to 2013 she served as senior researcher and clinical research coordinator at Tecnalia Research and Innovation (Spain), where she developed a thorough knowledge of both the industry and policy perspectives on R&D+I projects related to health, ageing and ICT. From 2014 to (January) 2016 she was Research Fellow at the Centre for Professional Ethics, University of Central Lancashire, (UK), leading the dissemination activity of the EU funded project ProGReSS (http://www.progressproject.eu/).
