Institute of Medical Ethics
March 3, 2017
Woburn House Conference Centre, London
This conference will explore what professionalism means and whether ethics is subsumed by it, whether anything is lost if we subsume ethics teaching into professionalism, and the case for taking ethics to be a distinct and essential component of the curriculum that requires more than ensuring knowledge of, and compliance with, the GMC’s documents. Furthermore, it will be discussed how medical ethics can be taught effectively, within the constraints of a crowded curriculum, and in order to prepare medical students for the realities of medical practice.
